Anne M. Gill, Ph.D., is a Research Associate and Co-Director of the Center for Parents and Children at the University of Pittsburgh. She is a family therapist with 30 years of experience working with families and children utilizing collaborative and evidence-based practices. Since 2003, she has been implementing the evidence-based model, The Family Check-Up and the Everyday Parenting Program as a clinician, supervisor, consultant, and trainer. Both the Family Check-Up and Everyday Parenting Programs align well with her strengths-based and culturally sensitive approaches to supporting families and children. Anne worked closely with Dr. Tom Dishion and Dr. Daniel Shaw on the adaptation of the Family Check-Up for early childhood populations and has worked with families with children throughout various developmental stages, spanning from infancy to late adolescence. Anne is dedicated to supporting and empowering families in their progress toward goals around parenting, well-being, self-sufficiency, and improving family relationships.
Anne has conducted workshops for agencies across the United States and internationally, including facilitating implementations of the Family Check-Up and Everyday Parenting models in Sweden, Australia, and Canada. She currently facilitates Family Check-Up model implementation in the Pittsburgh area, where she collaborates with agencies and community partners to ensure model compatibility and implementation success.
Since beginning to work with Drs. Dishion and Stormshak in 2003, Anne has co-authored numerous books and articles about the Family Check-Up. She has made significant contributions to the creation and ongoing development of intervention and instructional materials, including in-person and online training programs for professionals. With a love for supporting growth and development in both families and professionals, Anne enjoys providing training and supervision for graduate students and clinicians to support the effective integration of the Family Check-Up and Everyday Parenting models into their clinical practice and programs of research. Dr. Gill received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.
