Justin W. Patchin, Ph.D., is a professor of criminal justice in the Department of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He is also co-director of the Cyberbullying Research Center. For over a decade, he has been exploring the intersection of teens and technology, with particular focus on cyberbullying, social networking, and sexting. He travels around the United States and abroad training educators, counsellors, law enforcement officers, parents, and teens on how to prevent and respond to adolescent misuses of technology.
Dr. Patchin was a Futurist in Residence in the Behavioral Science Unit of the Federal Bureau of Investigation where he educated officers about the role of law enforcement in preventing and responding to cyberbullying incidents. He has presented at the White House and has appeared on CNN and NPR, and in Time and The New York Times to discuss issues related to teens use and misuse of technology.
