Mary M Gleason

Dr. Mary Gleason is an educational consultant to school districts on implementation of literacy programs. Previously, Dr. Gleason was director of training for the National Institute for Direct Instruction (NIFDI). She began her career by teaching for eight years in general and special education classrooms. For 20 years as a professor at the University of Oregon, she designed and taught more than 40 college courses, including supervision and coaching; instructional design; and methods for special education and general education, including reading, language arts, and math methods. She is the author or coauthor of many journal articles, book chapters, and curriculum materials, including Skills for School Success, REWARDS, and REWARDS Plus. Her research focuses on academic interventions for students with learning difficulties.
