Sheena Cameron is an experienced teacher who has taught in New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. She has taught at primary, intermediate and tertiary levels. Sheena currently facilitates literacy workshops both in New Zealand and internationally and continues to teach in the classroom regularly to keep in touch with the real world of teaching.
Sheena has had a huge impact on the teaching of literacy in New Zealand and Australia. She has written three literacy resource books independently and co-authored three further books with Louise Dempsey. These six titles are research-based, practical guides and are the ‘go to’ resources for many primary school teachers.
In 2021 Sheena was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the New Year's Honours List, for services to education.
