Tracy L Simpson

Tracy L. Simpson, PhD, is a clinical psychologist at VA Puget Sound Health Care System and a professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She is a senior faculty member of the VA Puget Sound Center of Excellence in Substance Addiction Treatment and Education.

Dr. Simpson has more than 20 years of clinical and research experience with trauma and posttrauma sequelae, and has collaborated with Dr. Kearney on various trials evaluating mindfulness-based interventions for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She has also carried out trials evaluating pharmacologic and behavioral interventions for alcohol use disorders with and without concurrent PTSD.

Her work has been supported by grants from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, the Department of Defense, and the VA Office of Research and Development.
