Vera Bernard-Opitz, PhD, BCBA-D, is a German clinical psychologist and psychological psychotherapist as well as an American board certified behaviour analyst. For many years she has specialised in helping children and adolescents with autism and other developmental and behaviour disorders. She supervises ABA teams across the Germany and the USA, conducts workshops and is the editor of the German practice series, entitled Autism Concrete. She gives regular workshops and talks focusing on behaviour problems, development of communication and social behaviour as well as on visual support.
Vera has worked as Associate Professor of Psychology at the National University of Singapore and co-ordinated the STEP Center for children with autism for 15 years. She is author of several popular books published in German and English.
