Tilly and Marty dream of being pop stars. Marty tries to convince the school principal to have a talent quest, arguing that their fathers were in a former group, and they may remove their talented daughters to the Parkland School. They are dismayed when Miss Jolly arranges for them to sing at the big Parkland music competition. A band is cobbled together but it is not the sort that the girls want. The players all have problems. However as they work together, they gain some mutual support, and when they play at the competition, they find that real emotion can be powerful.
