The Emotional or Behavior Disorder Intervention Manual provides IEP goals and objectives, as well as interventions for each specific behaviour problem identified by the EBDS-R (Emotional or Behaviour Disorder Scale), thus providing the direct therapeutic follow-up and classroom program for students with emotional or behaviour disorders. By utilising the Emotional or Behavior Disorder Intervention Manual, professionals from assessment, psychology, mental health, and education can plan and evaluate the most effective program for student improvement.
The Emotional or Behavioural Disorder Intervention Manual is based on the most commonly encountered behaviour problems in the educational environment which are identified on the EBDS-R. The list of behaviour problems was compiled as a result of survey activities designed to identify the most common behaviour problems encountered by classroom teachers. Every attempt was made to provide interventions which are likely to contribute to the most positive classroom atmosphere.
Additionally, the selection of intervention strategies took into account those interventions which reflect the positive teacher behaviour expected of educators in our schools. All interventions included in the Emotional or Behavioural Disorder Intervention Manual have been proven to contribute to success in the educational environment.
