The activities in FACTS: Daily Routines facilitate the development of augmentative and alternative communication vocabulary skills in students with severe communication disorders.
Training strategies focus on familiar classroom activities and daily school routines. Students respond by making an appropriate visual response, pointing to symbols (vocalising if possible), or performing simple actions. Easy-to-follow lessons include stories, songs, recipes, and sequences for teaching specific daily tasks.
The manual also includes reproducible communication boards, and over 100 8.5" x 11" reproducible pictures, goals and objectives, and more. Each lesson plan includes step-by-step directions for the teacher as well as for the student.
Components of the program:
Record-keeping is simple, using reproducible record forms that allow you to chart progress over time.
