Presenting the Activities
Read each story to the students or have them read the story independently. Select idioms from the story and ask questions about their meaning, such as "What does tough as nails mean in the story?" Have students give examples of situations in which they would use each idiom.
The worksheets include questions about specific idioms and space for students to write original stories using these expressions. The worksheet activities can be presented orally to non-readers.
