My Little Zoo is a hands-on multi-sensory, interactive felt toy which can be used flat, or easily transformed into a unique reversible 3-dimensional playset. One side is the outside of the zoo and inside features an aquarium, monkey house, grotto and safari park.
Created by a speech and language professional with 30+ years working with kids to build early language skills, virtually every part of My Little Zoo was designed with an educational purpose.
The 37 brilliantly-coloured soft, sticking felt pieces are used to promote receptive and expressive language; to teach who, what, and where questions; to develop matching skills; and as a springboard for demonstrating storytelling skills.
The pieces include zoo animals of land and sea, zookeepers, inclusive multi-racial and multi-generational family members that all kids will relate to, a safari jeep and piles of animal poo!
Each one of those 37 felt pieces addresses an early language concept! Every piece has a purpose!
My Little Zoo not only helps strengthen children's language skills, but it also offers ample opportunities for open-ended imaginative and creative play; your child will love matching the felt pieces to the appropriate outlines inside the 8 colourful panels of the Zoo, both inside and outside.
My Little Zoo (MLZ) also comes with an insert that gives parents an overview of the concepts that can be learned through play with MLZ, and features a a fun pictorial rhyme in which the kids can guess which animal is being talked about.
