"This is a fabulous resource and a book you’ll want to dip into again and again. It has sections to explain the origins of dyslexia by looking at how the brain works; how assessment and diagnosis is undertaken plus a checklist to help you understand your own dyslexia profile. The topics on personal development, organisational skills and study skills will be invaluable to your child as they progress through school and college. The chapter on literacy development gives ideas on building language skills and games that others can join in on. The section on working with your child’s school is a good foundation but a little light on details as to the process for gaining an EHCP should that be necessary. Underpinning all this the authors stress the importance of working with your child on their emotional well-being, so that throughout the challenges your son or daughter may face, s/he will have a good level of resilience to make progress. I particularly like the use of cream paper and the accessible way the information is split up into easy to access bite-size chunks. This is a book that every family with a dyslexic child should have access to."
