When Parker Plum arrives at school, a new student – Skyler Blue – is all the rage! With his extravagant adventures and keen ability to tell stories, Parker finds himself feeling resentful, and just plain ordinary. But when a timely trip to the peculiar Metropolitan Mummy Museum introduces Parker to a magical Egyptian cat, he starts learning about how to recognise his own strengths, and appreciate those of others. Will Parker be able to turn around his jealousy?

With a clever, adventurous story by author Billie Pavicic, and delightful water-colour illustration by debut children’s book artist Madeline Timm, readers in grades 1-6 are sure to enjoy learning how to be happy with who you are.

"Parker Plum proves once again to not only be peculiar and interesting, but also a fantastic resource for counselors and educators alike. Children will be captivated as he explores the mummy museum and learns to identify his strengths while focusing on what he can control. Pavicic provides a "CATchy" way for the audience to journey into self-acceptance and be happy with who they are. School counselors can utilize the book with individuals, small groups, and classroom instruction."
- Nicole Moore, M.A. - Professional School Counselor

"Great Resource! This K-5 level book aims to help kids develop a balanced view of themselves and avoid unhealthy comparisons or jealousy. Parker Plum is a reasonably interesting kid, but when the new kid at school shows up with way more stories and adventures than Parker could ever hope to have, he feels overshadowed. During a class trip to the "Metropolitan Mummy Museum," an ancient Egyptian cat sculpture comes to life and starts offering Parker suggestions on how to feel special. But the real breakthrough in Parker's view of himself is wrapped up in the nifty acronym CAT. The pictures are pretty cute. The book comes with a guide for parents and educators who want to help kids be content with who they are and be happy for other people too. It seems like a good resource."
