Speech Corner Photo Cards: Pragmatics for Teens was designed to give speech-language pathologists a convenient way to provide therapy for adolescence needing extra practice with social situations. These cards were constructed to help teenagers learn to interact appropriately with peers and adults in a variety of settings and circumstances.
The card scenes highlight common social issues such as dealing appropriately with a variety of emotions, showing respect, solving social dilemmas, responding to difficult situations, and more.
This set presents a collection of 50 double-sided cards. Each card has a colourful photograph on one side and a short paragraph detailing a social situation on the reverse. The social passage is followed by four open-ended pragmatic questions. The questions were formulated to assist teens in refining their social skills in a variety of areas and often have multiple appropriate answers. These cards contain visual cues, are appropriate for a variety of students, and allow for quick practice.
