Sam's geneticist dad is fanatical about copying and backing up. He even copied his first child. On the eve of his twelfth birthday Sam discovers he's his brother's clone. It's no big deal, say his parents, but the reporters don't see it that way, and one man who believes that cloning is a sin sets out to eliminate him. On a bummer of a birthday Sam is hiding in a barn full of junk and cats when somebody terrifying appears – himself. But this is not really Sam, it's another clone. When the murderer comes Sam discovers that being a clone is fun, which is just as well, as there are many more. Maybe the reader is one of them.
