Being able to tell “What happened and why it happened” is one of the most important skills in language development. The basic step in mastering this important skill is to provide structured lessons with lots of pictures and simple questions of, “What would happen if….” and “Why would this happen?” If a student does not know an answer, he/she should be told the answer and the lesson reviewed again to see if the student remembered the information. This type of structure and repetition is an excellent approach to developing the skill.
